Artist Statement:

"My artistic practice includes functional pottery, sculpture, drawing, and filmmaking. My decision to use a particular media is based around what the exploration I am interested in pursuing with regards to what ideas I want to express at that time. In other words, my functional pottery currently involves my interest in expressing something(s) about my ancestry (Norwegian) and my wife's ancestry (Sikh). I view the 'pot' as an ideal format for the use of motif, that were developed over the course of our specific cultures' evolutions, in order to express something about our lives together."
